Out of the southern highlands Autumn mist emerges Brigadoon, the Bundanoon Highland Gathering. There will be lots of activities leading up to the main event with a huge day planned for the 1st April. You will be entertained by the haunting sounds of bagpipes by 20 Pipe Bands.
You will see the strength of both men and women as they compete in the highland games, and lifting the Stones of Manhood.
There will be the Tartan Warriors and Scottish dancers.
Market stalls will be set up with lots of eating options catered for. You won’t want to miss this, as this is the largest event of its kind in Australia.
The Pipe Bands at Brigadoon
Whether it’s marching in the street parade, performing individually or with the massed bands or even when they are warming up in a corner of the Bundanoon Oval surrounds, the pipe bands are an integral part of Brigadoon. Some of the bands have been coming to Brigadoon for many years bringing with them the pageantry, colour and sounds that are unique to this type of event.
